Responding to Incidents of Child Abuse
Our club takes all matters related to the safety of children very seriously. It is our responsibility to report any matters concering the safety of a child.
The effects of child abuse and neglect can be significant and lead to lifelong problems. The outcomes for children if someone takes action to protect them from abuse or neglect can be overwhelmingly positive. With early and appropriate support, children and young people can overcome their experiences. If you have reasonable grounds to believe a child has or is likely to be a victim of abuse and/or neglect record the information the child has disclosed and inform your Child Safety Officer who can instruct you on whether the disclosure should be reported. If you are unable to contact your Child Safety Officer or they are not certain of what procedure should be taken, call the police or appropriate governing authority such as the Department of Health and Human Services.
